A Bessemer-elj\u00e1r\u00e1s sor\u00e1n a nyersvasat a koh\u00f3b\u00f3l val\u00f3 kivon\u00e1s ut\u00e1n leveg\u0151vel f\u00fajj\u00e1k \u00e1t ac\u00e9ll\u00e1. A Bessemer \u00e1ltal 1856-ban bemutatott elj\u00e1r\u00e1s 1864-ben v\u00e1lt sikeresen m\u0171k\u00f6d\u0151k\u00e9pess\u00e9. Ez az elj\u00e1r\u00e1s a modern kor legfontosabb termel\u00e9si fejleszt\u00e9sei k\u00f6z\u00e9 tartozik. Hasonl\u00f3 elj\u00e1r\u00e1st alkalmazott az Egyes\u00fclt \u00c1llamokban William Kelly 1851-ben, amelyet 1857-ben szabadalmaztattak. A Bessemer-elj\u00e1r\u00e1s egyik neh\u00e9zs\u00e9ge az volt, hogy csak alacsony foszfor- \u00e9s k\u00e9ntartalm\u00fa nyersvasat tudott feldolgozni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1860-ban William \u00e9s Friedrich Siemens Nagy-Britanni\u00e1ban, valamint Pierre \u00e9s Emile Martin Franciaorsz\u00e1gban kifejlesztett egy alternat\u00edv ac\u00e9lgy\u00e1rt\u00e1si elj\u00e1r\u00e1st. A nyitott k\u00e1lyh\u00e1t leveg\u0151vel \u00e9s t\u00fczel\u0151g\u00e1zzal t\u00e1pl\u00e1lt\u00e1k, amelyet \u00e9g\u00e9sterm\u00e9kekkel 800 Celsius-fokra el\u0151meleg\u00edtettek.
